Anyone who wants to lend or rent a vehicle to another person.

Why should you check if a driver's licence is valid?

To avoid having your vehicle seized.

This online service provides information about...

the validity of a driver's licence;
the class or classes of a driver's licence;
where applicable, licence conditions I, W, X or Y that could result in vehicle seizure, and endorsements.

Although failure to comply with the other licence conditions does not necessarily result in vehicle seizure, you can also check directly on the back of the licence if their holders are subject to specific conditions due to their state of health.

Confidentiality...

For privacy protection, the result of the request for information does not include any names, addresses or personal information about the holder of the driver's licence.

How much does the service cost?

$1.60 per consultation. The fees are charged to your credit card.

Note: You can also check the validit of a driver's licence by calling 1 900 565-1212. The $1.60 fee is added to your telephone bill.
