Additional Registration Fee for Large-Cylinder Capacity Vehicles
Is the engine capacity of your vehicle 4 litres* or over? Vehicles from model years 1995 onward equipped with a motor that has a cylinder displacement of 3.95 litres or more become subject to an additional registration fee, payable yearly. This affects:
- passenger vehicle
- commercial vehicle (see "Commercial vehicle" only)
- motor home
Exempt Vehicles
- Vehicle adapted for transporting a wheelchair-bound person
- Minibus for a large family (9 or more people living at the same address)
- Taxicab
- Driving school's vehicle
- Ambulance
- Tow truck
- Bus used to carry school children
- Farm vehicle
- Hearse
