Trucks and Farm Vehicles with a Net Weight Over 3,000 kg (L Licence Plate)
Truck
A road vehicle having a net weight over 3,000 kg, principally designed and equipped for the transportation of goods or of machinery with which it is permanently equipped or both. (With the exception of a 2-axle road vehicle, having a net weight of 4,000 kg or less, fitted with a separate closed cab and originally having an open truck box and tailgate, belonging to a natural person, that is used for personnal purposes only.)
Farm motor vehicle
Truck, pickup truck or small van type vehicle with a net weight over 3,000 kg, owned by a farmer and used mainly for the transportation of farm produce or material required in its production.
Farmer: a person holding a registration card issued by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec, or a person who is a member of an association certified under the Farm Producers Act. A person may register a maximum of 5 vehicles as farm vehicles.
