Trailers (R Licence Plate)

Trailer

A road vehicle designed to be pulled by another vehicle and which may be held or remains in a horizontal position.

Farm trailer

A trailer with a net weight of 2,300 kg or less owned by a farmer (an individual who holds a farm registration card issued by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec, or a member of an association recognized under the Farm Producers Act), that is used primarily to transport agricultural goods or the material necessary to produce such goods. Farm trailer licence plates that were issued prior to January 1, 1989 continue to use a category U licence plate.
