Pilot Project on the Transportation of Bicycles on a Rack Installed on the Front of Buses and Minibuses

The SAAQ is running a three-year pilot project allowing public transit agencies and authorities of Québec, as well as bus and minibus owner operators, to install a bicycle rack on the front of their buses and minibuses.

The pilot project aims to:

• collect information with regard to the transportation of a bicycle on a rack installed on the front of buses and minibuses and its effects, particularly on the brightness of the headlights and lights of buses or minibuses;
• try out solutions by formulating traffic rules and studying standards with regard to lights, to ensure that  buses or minibuses are visible and that the driver can see properly.
