Conduct Review Policy for Heavy Vehicle Drivers

The Conduct Review Policy for Heavy Vehicle Drivers aims to identify drivers who pose a risk to road safety and the integrity of the highway network and came into effect on January 1, 2011. It makes it possible to intervene with drivers who are at risk in order for them to change their behaviour and adopt safer conduct.

Events included in heavy vehicle drivers' records are considered when reviewing their conduct:

• traffic regulations (speeding, red lights, etc.);
• hours of driving and rest;
• “driver” out-of-service orders;
• securement of cargo;
• pre-trip inspections
• road accidents;
• etc.
