Mandatory Mechanical Inspection

Before taking a newly converted motor home on the road, you must go to a mechanical inspection agent to obtain:

  1. a Certificat de vérification mécanique (mechanical inspection certificate) that confirms the vehicle is in good mechanical condition;
  2. an Attestation de vérification (inspection certificate) that confirms the vehicle is fitted with all of the mandatory equipment. The inspection certificate is required to register the vehicle and must be kept in the vehicle at all times.

Any modification deemed illegal by the agent must be corrected by the owner of the vehicle.

In order to complete the study of a file, the Société can ask for an engineer's report on the modifications made to a vehicle. The engineer must prove to the Société's satisfaction that the vehicle can be safely driven on the road network.
