Paying One's Fines to Keep the Driving Privilege

Paying traffic fines is a responsibility intertwined with the privilege of driving a motor vehicle. Once the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec is notified of a fine assessed for an infraction under the Highway Safety Code or a municipal traffic or parking bylaw that has not been paid to the collecting entity, the privilege is withdrawn until the debt is settled.
