Road Safety

Texting Behind the Wheel

Texting behind the wheel is as dangerous as talking on a cell phone. Both behaviours impede your ability to carry out tasks that involve vision, mental activity and coordination. Texting while driving increases the risk of accident because the driver's eyes are away from the road (between 4.6 and 6 seconds). At 90 km/h, this is like travelling the length of a football field with your eyes closed.
