Road Safety

Education Program: Philosophie et sécurité routière (available in French only)

The aim of the program is to encourage young people to think about and engage in discussion about the problem of speeding, given that it is the main cause of fatal accidents among young drivers aged 16 to 24.

Target Group
College philosophy teachers and students.

Goal
The program was developed in keeping with the educational objectives of the mandatory ethics and politics course. It encourages students to think about and defend positions about contemporary issues such as high-risk driving by young drivers.

Contents
The program includes four different leaflets for use by students, which focus on the following schools of thought: subjectivism, hedonism, libertarianism and humanism. The program includes a teacher's guide to expand upon philosophical thinking on the subject of road safety.

The kit is reserved for teachers. The document is available in PDF format. To order the document, or for more information about the program, write to us.

The Philosophie et sécurité routière program, which is recognized by the philosophy teachers' committee (Comité des enseignantes et enseignants de philosophie), was developed by the SAAQ in collaboration with a philosophy teachers' round-table.
