Road Safety

Pedestrians – Youth Education

School children are more vulnerable than other road users:

  • they are smaller and have a limited field of vision;
  • they have difficulty accurately determining distances or sources of noise;
  • they can be absent-minded and impulsive;
  • they are involved in more road accidents.

In 2010, 3,234 pedestrians were killed or injured on Québec roads, including 370 children under age 14.
