The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) launches an advertising offensive on French- and English-language radio stations throughout Québec. During this Road Safety Year, and in anticipation of the summer holiday season, the SAAQ made an effort to raise awareness among road users about the importance of exercising caution towards motorcycles on the road, wearing seat belts, road courtesy and vigilance at the wheel.
Radio Commercials
Motorcycles
Far too often, motorists do not take the time to carefully look ahead before making a turn at an intersection and fail to see a motorcycle approaching in the opposite direction.
Wearing a Seat Belt
Over 30% of Québec drivers who were involved in a fatal accident were not wearing a seat belt.
Courtesy
Cutting off and tailgating other motorists are inappropriate, yet commonly occurring driver behaviours. They are an irritant to a growing number of Québec drivers and a source of frustration that can lead to road rage.
Vigilance
Motorists face a variety of distractions when they're at the wheel (talking on a phone, eating, drinking, fixing makeup, reading, etc.) that can divert attention from the principal task at hand: safe operation of a motor vehicle.
Other Commercials
The SAAQ reminds drivers that behaving responsibly on the road is the best protection... for life. We are all responsible for our conduct on the road.
