2007 Campaign - Accidents hurt... a lot of people

As part of Road Safety Year in 2007, the SAAQ featured this theme in a comprehensive awareness campaign about the consequences of road accidents and the consequences on the families of victims.

Because accidents hurt... a lot of people, the SAAQ would like you to realize the importance of behaving responsibly on the road.

Consequences of an Accident on Loved Ones
What happens in a hospital emergency ward when physicians attempt to resuscitate a crash victim? What happens when the person doesn't make it?

And how does this type of accident affect a family?

The message focused on the consequences an accident has on a family. It was a reminder that accidents hurt... a lot of people. Re-enacting a side-on collision that kills the driver of a vehicle, it realistically conveyed the tragic consequences a road crash can have on victims and their loved ones. The commercial brought home the message that 80% of highway accidents are attributed to behaviour on the road, not fate. It concluded with the following statement: “We are all responsible for our conduct on the road”.
